The Innovation Cafe

Front back

In February Tacchi-Morris Arts Centre and Taunton’s Creative Innovation Centre present The Innovation Café – a symposium showcasing some of the most innovative, imaginative and daring collaborations and innovations in the arts, business and healthcare communities.

The afternoon will include a range of speakers and workshops and we are inviting six cultural leaders and organisations to showcase their work. Presentations should be dynamic, engaging and original and must be presented in a PechaKucha format (a Japanese form of presentation – 20 slides, 20 second each). Presentations should focus on: a case study of your work, how working cross sector has broadened / strengthened / challenged your organisation and how innovation has shaped your approach. Ideally we would like to showcase a range of collaborations across arts / business / healthcare / public and private sectors.

The event, which will take place in our 250 seat auditorium, will be dramatic, experimental and offer a vast array of innovations for a hungry audience.

If you are interested in participating please email detailing: your name, your organisation(s) name, your contact details, a bit of history about your organisation/collaboration. Many thanks, Louise Lappin-Cook, Director, Tacchi-Morris Arts Centre

Culture, Health and Wellbeing: International Conference

The Culture, Health and Wellbeing international conference being held in Bristol on June 24th – June 26th 2013 is now open for registration and is calling for submission of abstracts for presentation.

It promises to be a stimulating and vibrant exchange of ideas, to provoke new ways of researching and creating, and will encourage delegates to question assumptions and learn about different approaches to current issues and areas of practice. The conference will inform international perspectives on:

  • Healthy and Creative Ageing
  • Global Health Inequalities and Culture
  • Culture and the Social Determinants of Wellbeing

It is also a great chance to show the international arts and health community about the strength and diversity of the work going on in Bristol.

“I hold strongly that the arts can enhance wellbeing and health and that more needs to be done through public policy to ensure that as many people as possible have the opportunity to benefit from the life-enhancing and therapeutic experience of the arts. We need to learn from best practice in this field across the world.” (Lord Howarth of Newport)
