Supervision for Creative Practitioners Working in Healthcare Settings

As part of a programme of CPD for creative practitioners working in healthcare settings NHS Bristol and Bristol City Council are offering six free places on our facilitated peer supervision programme.

This is an opportunity to join an ongoing supervision group where you can confidentially reflect on your practice, explore issues and share good practice outside of your normal working environment.

Groups meet on Thursday mornings on a bi-monthly basis and are facilitated by an independent clinical supervisor. If you would like to be considered for a place please contact Tana.holmes@bristol.gov.uk

Arts and Health Practitioner Training 9th November

As part of a programme of CPD for creative practitioners working in healthcare settings NHS Bristol and Bristol City Council offer a series of subsidised training workshops.

The next workshop runs on Friday 9th November. During the morning Dave MacCallum will give an overview of safeguarding policy for children and vulnerable adults. In the afternoon Willis Newson will lead a hands-on session exploring creative and credible evaluation.

Mental Health Awareness: Understanding Mental Health and Wellbeing

Wednesday 19th September 2012 – 09:15-16:30

This course aims  to give participants from a variety of settings and backgrounds the opportunity to gain a basic awareness of mental health which they can draw upon in their day-to-day work. Emphasis is placed on the social aspects of mental health including the stigma of mental illhealth and the factors that can promote recovery and wellbeing.

Creative Seed Funding from Bristol City Council

Bristol City Council’s Creative Seed fund offers grant funding of up to £3000 to support creative projects in Bristol. The fund is open to Bristol based community groups, organisations, companies, artists, individuals and local charities who are organising creative projects that enrich Bristol’s cultural calendar and benefit communities and artists across the city.

Application deadline is 4pm on Friday 14th September.

Supervision for Artists Working in Healthcare Settings

NHS Bristol and Bristol City Council offer subsidised group supervision for Bristol based artists working in healthcare settings. Groups are facilitated by an experienced clinical supervisor and provide a safe, supportive space for you to regularly explore your arts and health practice.

Supervision is a term used to describe a formal process of professional support and learning which enables practitioners to develop knowledge and competence, assume responsibility for their own practice and enhance consumer care (DOH 1993)
