Induction Days

Outside In is partnering with Arts & Health South West (AHSW), Bristol Museum & Art Gallery, Falmouth Art Gallery, Borough of Poole Museum and Arts Service and The Wilson in Cheltenham to organise ‘Alternative Visions: Undiscovered Art in the South West’ a touring exhibition of work by artists in the South West who feel excluded from the mainstream art world.

Outside In and AHSW want to hear from organisations, individuals and groups who work with people who are interested in making their own visual artwork, but who face barriers to accessing the art world for reasons including health, disability, social circumstance or isolation.  We would like to invite these organisations to come to an Induction Day at the 4 main venues in April – May 2016 to find out more about how they can help the individuals they have contact with to upload their artwork to the Outside In website, to showcase it digitally alongside 2,100 other artists, and – if they want – submit it to be included in the touring exhibition which starts in June 2017 at Bristol Museum & Art Gallery.

At the Induction Days, you will:

  • Hear from Outside In staff and staff from partner venues about the project

  • Hear from artists who have worked with Outside In before; learn about their journey and what they have gained from working with the project

  • Find out how to get artists that you know, or support, involved either through Surgery Days or by signing groups up yourself with the help of ‘how-to-guides’
